Great Ocean Road Hotels & Accommodation
The Great Ocean Road is one of the world's most iconic coastal drives, stretching 243 kilometres along Victoria's southwest coast. Built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932, it's a memorial as much as a scenic wonder, winding past surf beaches, rainforest and the dramatic limestone stacks of the Twelve Apostles.
Lorne is the most popular base — a charming seaside town with restaurants, a pier and beautiful Teddy's Lookout. Further west, Apollo Bay is a quieter alternative with excellent eco-lodges and access to the Otway Rainforest. Port Campbell is the gateway to the Twelve Apostles, just minutes from the viewing platforms.
The drive itself takes about 4 hours without stops, but most visitors take 2-3 days to enjoy the walks, waterfalls and wildlife along the way.
